GTA 3 cheat codes explained: what you need to know about cheats in Grand Theft Auto 3
While entering cheats in GTA 3 is pretty simple, there are always a few things to bear in mind when you're planning on using them in-game.
- Save before using cheats - especially as this is an older game, using cheats can be a little bit risky, and you'll often struggle to undo the havoc you cause with them turned on, anyway. Always save first so you have a backup just in case.
- Most cheats can't be deactivated - re-entering a cheat will often bring up a 'cheat deactivated' message in-game, but in our experience that often leaves the cheat still active, or at least the resulting chaos still well in effect. This is another reason why you should save first, so you can re-load that save game to go back to before you entered the cheat.
- Don't save whilst the cheat is active - this is an important one. With GTA 3 in particular, saving while a cheat is active can corrupt a save file or ruin a main save game by leaving it in a state of chaos. We strongly recommend you don't risk it and don't save once you've used one.
- Note that some of the below cheats are untested - we've run through them on PC to confirm the ones in the list below do work, but for the older consoles that's not been possible. We've cross-referenced them from multiple sources where we can, but just bear in mind the odd one might not work fully!

GTA 3 PS2 and PS3 cheat codes - all Grand Theft Auto 3 cheats for PS2 and PS3 listed
PS2 and PS3 cheats for GTA 3 are entered by simply pressing the below button codes as they appear at any point in the game. As long as your button presses are being registered - as in, you're not in the middle of a cutscene or something like that - then once you've completed them in order, it'll work.

The online-only GHTV mode is where the real depth of Guitar Hero Live lies. It’s also the part that could prove the most divisive for series fans, given it completely does away with the traditional approach to song DLC. Guitar Hero Live is a complex machine with many moving parts and a lot of new ideas. Its visuals rely primarily on live action footage rather than traditional game graphics. Its guitar trades the long-standing five button layout for three pairs of buttons stacked on top of each other. Series, the guitars themselves leave something to be desired. Guitar Hero Live with a single guitar and a physical copy of the game costs £74.99 on PS4, PS3, Wii U and Xbox 360, and £79 on Xbox One. GTA 3 Xbox cheat codes - all Grand Theft Auto 3 cheats for Xbox listed
Xbox cheats for GTA 3 are entered by simply pressing the below button codes as they appear at any point in the game, just like with PS2 and PS3. Again, as long as your button presses are being registered - as in, you're not in the middle of a cutscene or something like that - then once you've completed them in order, it'll work.
Note that Xbox 360 players playing via backwards compatibility can replace 'Black' with RT and 'White' with LT to enter the cheats as they otherwise appear the same!

GTA 3 mobile cheat codes: can you use cheats in GTA 3 on Android and iOS?
Finally, since GTA 3's been ported to mobile platforms like iOS and Android, you might be wondering if it's possible to use the above GTA 3 cheats on mobile.
Can you use cheats on GTA 3 mobile?
In brief, yes and no. There's no way to naturally input the cheats in GTA 3 on mobile, as the cheats that work with it are the PC ones, which require a keyboard.
However, it is possible to download some third-party software or app of some kind that allows you to use a keyboard overlay on top of a game. We can't recommend you any specific software as we can't guarantee it's a safe download for you, and wouldn't want to cause you any problems, but if you exercise the proper cautions and know that you do so at your own risk, that's at least one possible workaround, and it does work!
