Monster Kingdom: Jewel Summoner is a Far East role-playing game with strategic elements for PlayStation Portable, Sony's portable console. The main character is Vyse, who belongs to the title tribe Jewel. Initially, humanity and monsters lived side by side in peace, without much hesitation. This condition lasted until the Great Catastrophe, which caused the monsters to suddenly disappear. Only stones are left of them, emitting huge amounts of energy, allowing their civilization to survive. The balance of the world, which has been kept in check so far, has been drastically upset. Seeking an imminent threat, an organisation is set up to deepen the knowledge of these stones and protect their strength. Within its framework there are ranks of elite warriors (titled Jewel Summoners), who use the mysterious energy of rock monsters and exploit it in combat.
This is how the game's extensive feature part presents itself. The user also has access to a strictly battle mode, combined with a sophisticated creature multiplication system. First you need to collect the right amount of boulders, and then using their power, transform them into ever more powerful beasts, which are extremely helpful in war. The player has more than a hundred terrifying monsters at his disposal, which he puts up for battle. Developers have also made it possible to play with many people through a wireless Wi-Fi connection. Together with your friends you can raise your own monsters and play a number of battles.
Spatial graphics perfectly captures all the details of characters and surroundings. But it doesn't make such an impression as a phenomenal soundtrack. More than ten well-known composers took part in its preparation. Among them were Shinji Hosoe, who created music for the Ridge Racer series, and Hitoshi Sakimoto, known for his extremely melodic songs from Final Fantasy XII. Yasunori Mitsuda was also on the payroll - we heard his compositions in Chrono Trigger, among others.
