“Star Fox Zero” is a 3D scrolling shooter focusing on space battles co-developed by Platinum Games with Nintendo. This is the sixth installment in the “Star Fox” series of games. The gameplay in the game has many similarities with its predecessor, mainly “Star Fox 64”, in which players will control the character Fox McCloud as the pilot of the Arwing spaceship and pass many different levels. There are also a number of other vehicles in the game that can transform into different shapes such as Arwing can be converted into Walker so that players can freely travel on different battlefield surfaces. The Landmaster can turn into a Gravmaster, allowing players to perform extended aerial operations. In addition, “Star Fox Zero” also introduces players to a very new means, Gyrowing, a helicopter-like drone that can be transformed into a small robot called Direct-i that can penetrate into narrow spaces and computer hacking. Players can also add laser upgrades and smart bombs to their ships. Special techniques, such as charge shot, barrel roll, Somersaults, U-Turns, and rapid turn, can be performed. The game also has many other elements coming back from previous versions, including Fox teammates Falco, Peppy, and Slippy, who can support players if they protect them from attacks enemies, as well as rivals of the Star Wolf team: Wolf O’Donnell, Leon Powalski, Pigma Dengar, and Andrew Oikonny.
